A webinar was organised by Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Alumni Association Qatar (AMUAAQ), in association with the Engineers Australia (EA) Qatar Chapter, through the WebEx platform recently.
The event was organised for engineering graduates and students of Aligarh Muslim University.
The event was attended by a large number of engineers from India and Qatar, and informed engineering students and graduates about how to become members of Engineers Australia and thereby acquire the 'Chartered Engineer' credential. It also highlighted the possibility of immigrating to Australia in a quest to upgrade and further careers.
The event was co-ordinated by Astley from Engineers Australia UK Chapter. The president of Engineers Australia Qatar Chapter, Tamer Yahya Naguib, welcomed the participants and spoke on the role of EA, welcoming the speakers and guest attendees to the webinar.
The guest speaker for the event was an accomplished engineer and principal of Zakir Hussain College of Engineering & Technology (ZHCET), AMU. Prof Dr M M Sufyan Beg, who presented the role of ZHCET and AMU and encouraged the engineering graduates to join professional organisations like Engineers Australia to enhance their careers.
Rami Badaoui, an associate of Engineers Australia Qatar Chapter, was the keynote speaker. His presentation encouraged engineering graduates to join Engineers Australia as a member and also apprised them of the 'Chartered Engineer' credential. The presentation was followed by a Q&A session. Engineers Australia Qatar Chapter agreed to provide free membership to the engineering students and graduates for one year.
The event was closed by a vote of thanks to the attendees and speakers by Tamer Yahya Naguib.
AMUAAQ extended special thanks to Asif Rahmany, a dynamic AMU alumnus and deputy president of Engineers Australia Qatar Chapter, noting that the "productive webinar wouldn’t have been possible without his kind efforts". It also thanked Naim Jainul (adviser) and Zeyaul Haque (general secy) of AMUAAQ for the success of the webinar.
