'Together We Work, You Have A Right You Have A Duty' campaign deals with "health, working hours, rest times, adequate housing, and occupational safety"

The National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) has resumed its awareness campaign, 'Together We Work, You Have A Right You Have A Duty' which comes within the framework of implementing the committee's work strategy aimed at enhancing awareness of workers' rights and duties, and spreading a culture of human rights in general, QNA reported.
The campaign, which deals with the axes of "health, working hours, rest times, adequate housing, and occupational safety", was halted last January as part of the precautionary measures taken in light of the increasing cases of coronavirus (Covid-19).
The Head of the Public Relations Unit of the NHRC, Abdullah Ali al-Mahmoud, stressed the importance of the campaign, which targets an important segment of society that plays a major role in advancing the development process in the country, whether employers or workers, noting that from this standpoint, the NHRC attaches great importance to the issues of workers and employers alike, with the aim of consolidating human rights principles, translating them on the ground in various fields of work, and contributing to overcoming all obstacles that prevent the various parties from enjoying full and undiminished rights.
Al-Mahmoud pointed out that the campaign focuses on important axes that include all aspects related to employers and workers, which will be introduced and discussed by specialists, noting that the Qatari labour law guarantees all professional and social rights for workers, as well as the rights of employers in accordance with a contractual relationship between the two parties.
NHRC in co-operation with Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), will also organise educational and awareness-raising events in health centres for workers.
