The Department of Meteorology in its weekly weather report on Sunday said the wind may turn southeasterly on Monday until the beginning of Tuesday that can be fresh to strong in speed, gusting to 23 kt at times causing blowing dust to dusty weather.
Thus the country is expected to be affected by a dust mass reducing the horizontal visibility to less than 2km and even to zero at times, the Met Department warned. The wind may turn to northwesterly from Tuesday morning until Wednesday evening from fresh to strong, in speed gusting 22kt at times.
As the cloud formation increases across the country during this period and the weather becomes partly cloudy at times, there are chances of light rain at the end of the current week, which is called the pre-sarayat rain, the weather report added. Fast cloud formation over small areas that scatter around during evening and night time is the characteristic of the pre-sarayat rain.
The temperature is expected to rise during the weekend with the shift of southerly winds where the maximum ranges between 32-38 °C and higher especially at southwesterly areas, the report said.
The Department of Meteorology also advised all to be careful during unstable weather and follow the latest updates through our official accounts.
