Qatar Chamber board member and Chairperson of the Qatari Businesswomen Forum Ibtihaj al-Ahmadani opened on Wednesday the seventh edition of Merwad Exhibition, which draws the participation of more than 150 Qatari businesswomen.
The six-day expo displays 200 booths, presenting the latest innovations in the field of fashion for Ramadan Season 2022.
On this occasion, al-Ahmadani said the expo has witnessed a significant development year after year in terms of the number of exhibitors and the quality of displayed items, stressing that it reflects the innovations of Qatari designers in the field of fashion and women’s supplies and presents a wide range of high-end Arab fashion and luxurious abayas.
She confirmed the Chamber’s continuous concern to support exhibitions that are held by Qatari businesswomen to help them promote their products, whether inside or outside the country, pointing to the Qatari Businesswomen Forum’s keenness to provide support for the Merwad expo, which stems out from its interest to support Qatari businesswomen and encourage them to maximise their contribution in the economic activity.
Al-Ahmadani also said that Merwad expo has become one of the most prominent local and international exhibitions that are dedicated to women’s fashion and accessories, noting that it showcases the latest trends in the industry of fashion and luxurious clothing, in addition to the latest designs of elegant abayas.
Director of Vouge Event Company Tamader al-Marri said the expo has seen a great expansion since its first edition, noting that it succeeded in attracting exhibitors from different countries.
She also said the number of participants has jumped, from 60 booths in the first edition to 200 in the current version, indicating that this confirms the success of the exhibition in attracting female entrepreneurs and promoting their creativity in the local market.
She lauded the Qatar Chamber for sponsoring the expo and the Qatari Businesswomen Forum for providing the support, noting that this support emphasised the key role played by the Forum in supporting the Qatari woman and enhancing the role of businesswomen and entrepreneurs in the national economy.
