Amir, Sudan leader vow to enhance relations
*Gen al-Burhan backs all measures that Qatar would take to safeguard its sovereignty

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani held a meeting at the Amiri Diwan yesterday with Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of the sisterly Republic of Sudan, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, during which they discussed relations between the two countries and strengthening them across a variety of fields of bilateral co-operation, as well as regional developments and the efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.At the outset of the meeting, His Highness the Amir welcomed the Chairman of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council and the accompanying delegation, expressing his thanks to him for responding to the invitation to take part in the Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit, and His Highness's pleasure at this visit, which reflects the depth of the brotherly relations between the two countries.For his part, Gen al-Burhan underscored his country's full solidarity with Qatar and its people, affirming that Sudan backs all measures Qatar takes to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He stressed that the cowardly Israeli attack represents a breach of Qatar's sovereignty and flouts all international laws and norms, praising the efforts of His Highness the Amir and Qatar to achieve peace and stability in the region and the world.In this context, His Highness the Amir expressed his utmost appreciation to His Excellency for his solidarity and fraternal heartfelt sentiments, as well as Sudan's supportive position toward Qatar and its people.During the meeting, His Highness the Amir and Gen al-Burhan shared viewpoints on regional and global developments of common concern, particularly the current situation in the Middle East and the latest developments in Sudan.HE Chief of the Amiri Diwan, Abdullah bin Mohammed al-Khulaifi, HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi, and a number of high-ranking officials attended the meeting.From the Sudanese side, the meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Muhi Al Din Salem, alongside several high-ranking officials who were members of the delegation accompanying Chairman of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council.
