* Saudi embassy celebrates Founding Day of the Kingdom

A great leap has been recorded in Qatar-Saudi relations over the past year and the strengthening of these distinguished relations, await a promising future for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries, Saudi ambassador Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan al-Saud has said.
“The relations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Qatar extend for about 140 years and are deeply rooted in history, linking the two ruling families in the two countries to brotherhood, love and ancient bonding, and the relations of the two brotherly peoples are characterised by ties of kinship and religious, cultural, civil, and historical heritage, and therefore the relations are very strong, thanks to God, ” he said.

Talking to journalists at a programme organised by the embassy Wednesday to celebrate the Founding Day of the Kingdom, Prince Mansour thanked his " brothers in Qatar for their celebration and participation with their Saudi brothers on this occasion.”
Saudi Arabia marks February 22 as its “Founding Day” and the embassy celebrated the day under the slogan “The Day We Began” in Doha.
Present on the occasion were Qatar's Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim al-Thani, HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Dr Ahmed al Hammadi, Director of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Ambassador Ibrahim Fakhro and a number of ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions in Doha.
The Saudi ambassador pointed out that “the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council, under the supervision of the leaderships of the two countries, includes senior officials from the ministries and other officials in the two governments".
He said it is characterised by clear rules of governance, and the goal of the Council is to follow up comprehensive initiatives for all areas of political, economic, and commercial cooperation. "The Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and Qatar National Vision 2030 meet the aspirations of the leadership of the two countries to achieve the interests of their peoples.”
Prince Mansour said that “the celebration of the Founding Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a precious occasion that confirms the extent of the solidity of the institutions of governance in the Kingdom and the first, second and third Saudi states were built on solid pillars, which confirms the historical, civilisational, and cultural depth and interdependence between the leadership and citizens. There is no doubt that the past three centuries deserve to be proud of and cherished.”
He stressed that “the Founding Day for us is very important, and this is the first celebration at this time.”
The ambassador also praised Qatar's preparations to host the FIFA World Cup 2022, expressing his confidence in Qatar's ability "to organise a successful tournament that constitutes an exceptional and unprecedented event in the region.”
