While reiterating that security is the responsibility of all, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has asked companies to discharge their duties while ensuring public safety.
While addressing a webinar titled Crime Prevention is a Shared Responsibility on Tuesday, Lieutenant-Colonel Ali Falah al-Marri, investigation officer at Al Rayyan Security Department, said that companies should protect the lives of its employees with safety procedures, food, and appropriate accommodation.
“Companies should pay attention to the basic needs of employees at work places and outside,” he stressed. “They should educate employees about the country’s procedures, provide them with security, install surveillance cameras in order to avoid theft and attack, inform the security authorities if suspicious activities are found, and urge the employees to wear clothes that aren’t against the moral values of Qatar.”
Lt-Col al-Marri urged companies to pay salaries on time and carry out periodic maintenance for the housing as well as provide for the employees’ basic needs.
“When an expatriate comes to Qatar, he should present the highest and noblest morals, as he is the representative and ambassador of his country,” he added.
“He should convey a good and bright image of his country,” Lt-Col al-Marri said, adding that he has to adhere to the laws and be aware of customs and traditions prevailing in the host country, which is committed to providing necessary protection to him.
Observing that the police have an important role in ensuring public safety, the MoI official asked companies to work with the security authorities.
