The National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking held its first periodic meeting for 2022, under the chairmanship of HE Minister of Labour Dr Ali bin Smaikh al-Marri, the chairman of the committee. The meeting reviewed a number of proposals and projects aimed at enhancing protection and support for victims of human trafficking, promoting the role of the Committee in combating human trafficking, and enhancing co-ordination between it and the concerned state authorities in this regard. The meeting also discussed strengthening Qatar's efforts in combating human trafficking by enhancing the rule of law, in addition to a number of projects that would enhance co-ordination with the competent and concerned authorities to ensure protection and support for victims of human trafficking, and other related issues. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Public Health, in addition to the Public Prosecution, the Government Communications Office and the National Human Rights Committee.
