HE the Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani met with Executive Director of the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Catherine Russell.

During the meeting, cooperation between Qatar and the UNICEF were reviewed.

HE Sheikha Alya Al-Thani reiterated Qatar's continued support for the work and programs of the Fund in the Arab region and other regions of the world.

For her part, the Executive Director of the UNICEF valued the existing partnership with the State of Qatar, especially after the signing of the partnership agreement in 2018 to contribute to the Fund's main resources, in addition to hosting the organization's office in Doha.

It is noteworthy that Qatar and the UNICEF have a distinguished and special partnership, especially with the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) and the country's leading institutions in the field of children, including the tripartite partnership between QFFD, UNICEF and Ooredoo Group, which aims to change the lives of millions of children around the world to recover after the Coronavirus pandemic, as well as the partnership between the Education Above All Foundation and UNICEF to implement many programs and projects, the most important of which is the "Educate a Child" program.
