The Search and Follow-up Department (SFD) at the General Directorate of Passports, Ministry of Interior (MoI), has arrested three men from an Asian country for trafficking, sheltering and employing domestic workers.
Acting on a suspicious advertisement on social media regarding domestic workers, and after taking the necessary permissions and co-ordinating with the relevant security departments, the SFD caught the accused red-handed as they sheltered many housemaids, the MoI tweeted yesterday.
During their interrogation, the accused confessed to the charges against them and gave details of how they sheltered and employed domestic workers through ads published on social media platforms.
Accordingly, the accused were referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal procedures in this regard, the MoI said.
