Souq Waqif is to hold the Agricultural Products and Local Honey Exhibition, in co-operation with the Ministry of Municipality, from Feb 20 to March 1.
The exhibition at Souq Waqif's Al Ahmad Square comes within the framework of supporting Qatari products through a marketing platform that acquaints the public with the high-quality food products characterised by Qatari farms, as well as local honey-producing companies, and provides an opportunity for merchants, entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium enterprises to display their honey products to the public.
About 70 pavilions, representing many farms and apiaries, displaying local agricultural products, fresh fruits and honey.
Director of Souq Waqif Mohamed Abdullah al-Salem stressed that the exhibition at a place like Souq Wakif, which is a place of interest many tourists visit, provides an ideal marketing experience. The Souq is a main tourism destination in Qatar due to its historical, heritage, artistic and cultural importance.
Al Salem pointed out that the Souq Waqif administration provides continuous support to local farmers through festivals and exhibitions to market their products.
Al Salem added that the exhibition of agricultural products and local honey aims to market Qatari agricultural products, support local farms and work to attract the public so that they benefit from sale of vegetables, fruits and honey at prices controlled by the Ministry of Municipality.
Souq Waqif administration is keen to adhere to the precautionary measures followed in the country to prevent the spread of the Covid-19, added Al Salem.
