ExxonMobil Qatar has engaged with its partner Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar in the dynamic Public Village stand activities at the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2022 taking place in Doha until February 19.
Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar will run activities in a dedicated room at the stand for young visitors aged three to 12 years. These include Future City – an upcycling activity and community art project that encouragse young guests to use recycled materials and arts and crafts to collaboratively build a sustainable city for the future; and a Footprint Wall where children match local animals with their tracks.

The room also includes a mural wall for children to express their observations and imaginations of local wildlife.
“We’re thrilled that Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar is joining us at our stand this year, and very appreciative of their partnership and support. Their activities have been carefully designed to teach children sustainable behaviours while they play and give them a chance to understand what sustainable living means,” said Dominic Genetti, president and general manager for ExxonMobil Qatar.
Essa al-Mannai, director of Dadu, said: “It is an honour for Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar to be invited to participate in Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2022. Dadu looks forward to supporting ExxonMobil Qatar through educational activities that spark curiosity and are rooted in local values.”
Dadu is Qatar’s first publicly funded museum, with all donors, families and corporations directly contributing to the future of Qatar and its people. The museum is being created to advance the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030 for human, social, economic and environmental development. With programming that will offer each child an opportunity to learn through play, Dadu will nurture the future leaders and caretakers of Qatar and the world.
In November 2021, ExxonMobil Qatar and Qatar Museums announced a new partnership agreement, with the company joining Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar as a Founding Family member. The partnership is based on joint efforts to highlight and protect Qatar’s natural environment and marine life - including its iconic dugong population.
Under the partnership, ExxonMobil will become the exclusive sponsor of the museum’s 'Value the Environment Sustainability Gallery' – a space that will focus on the natural environment and biodiversity. Essentially, both organisations will work together to raise awareness among students and the general public about the importance of sustainability for the future of the planet.
