Qatar Charity (QC), as part of its ‘Warmth and Peace’ drive, continues distributing winter essentials to workers, in co-operation with the Ministry of Municipality and the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), benefiting 500 workers from Al Rayyan and Al Wakrah municipalities and Al-Wakeel Group. Another 200 workers are also expected to receive the winter essentials from QC soon.
“We aim, through this project, to bring joy to the workers by meeting their winter needs,” said QC’s Programs and Community Development department director Fatima Jumah AlMohannadi, adding that the project comes in appreciation of the works they carry out outdoors in very cold weather. “We are also keen to get the community members involved in such important initiatives,” she said.
Hamad al-Janahi, a member of the ‘Ashghal Ambassadors’ initiative, expressed his happiness with participating in the ‘Warmth and Peace’ campaign to distribute the winter essentials to workers of Al-Wakeel Group, and appreciated QC’s support to meet their needs and protect them from the extreme cold. He also praised the efforts made by QC within and outside Qatar in providing aid and implementing various initiatives for the benefit of those with low-income.
Mohamed Tahir Yusufi, HR manager at Al Wakeel Group, thanked QC for supporting the workers and providing them with winter supplies. He noted that the workers needed such support, especially in these cold days, praising the efforts of QC for the benefit of low-income people, especially the workers. He looked forward to QC's continued support for them in the future.
Rashid Mubarak al-Mansouri, director of Services Affairs at Al Rayyan Municipality, thanked QC for the kind gesture and its efforts to provide warmth for workers in such cold weather.
QC had earlier distributed winter essentials to 500 workers from the Daayen and Al Shamal municipalities and companies.
The winter essentials distributed by QC to the workers included warm clothes, jackets, and blankets.
