The committee concerned with developing the internal regulations of the Shura Council held a meeting on Sunday headed by HE the Committee chairperson Dr Ali bin Fetais al-Marri, QNA reported
The committee continued to discuss the chapters of the internal regulations, in particular the third chapter, which is related to the sessions, the system of sessions, their minutes, the rules for the Council's practice of its work, the Council's budget and final account, and those related to the Council's General Secretariat.
Article 97 of the Constitution states that the Shura Council shall make regulations governing its internal order and conduct of business, the work of committees, the organisation of sessions, procedural, voting rules and all functions stipulated in this Constitution. The regulations shall determine disciplinary penalties for any members violating orders, or failing to attend sessions of the Council or committees without acceptable reason; and the aforementioned regulations shall be issued by law.
