The General Authority of Customs (GAC), represented by the Customs Training Centre, concluded its foundation session for new employees. A GAC statement explained that the during the seven-week session, the participants were trained on the rules and laws of administrative and field work. The training was carried out by a group of experts and specialists from inside and outside GAC.
The course witnessed the participation of 33 employees, comprising customs inspectors and security personnel at customs ports. They were selected according to the training track prepared in advance for them.
Mubarak al-Buainain, director of the Customs Training Centre, said these courses help new employees start field work efficiently. He noted that the trainees took intensive lectures during which their abilities were strengthened and understanding of customs laws, legislation, technical and field skills and customs procedures improved. These are in addition to organising field visits to the customs departments of Hamad International Airport, air freight and maritime customs. He urged the participants to implement what they learned accurately and seriously.
The programme included lectures on research and investigation methods, dealing with drugs, explosive detection, money laundering, and how to deal with radioactive and dangerous materials and others.
