The Criminal Investigation Department arrested an Asian man for engaging in gambling in an area where labourers gathered, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said on Thursday. As a video showing a person playing gambling went viral, the relevant authorities verified the authenticity of the video and, after necessary investigations, arrested the accused. During the interrogation, the accused confessed to the charges against him, and he was referred to the judicial authorities to take the legal procedures followed in this regard, the MoI tweeted. The Criminal Investigation Department has called upon the public to co-operate with security agencies by reporting anyone suspected of such practices through the Metrash2 app.
