HE the Minister of Labour Dr Ali bin Smaikh al-Marri, stressed the importance of the National Sport Day (NSD) in the life of the Qatari community, noting that this occasion established the leading position of Qatar as a sports events hub in the region and the world.
In a statement on the celebration of the National Sport Day, HE Dr al-Marri said that the annual sports events confirm the vision of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, that sport is an essential part of the system for the advancement of society by promoting the development of individuals' physical and intellectual capabilities in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
He also affirmed that the Ministry of Labour pays great attention to sports within the facilities and workers' accommodations, in addition to its efforts to continuously raise awareness, in partnership with the joint labor committees, of the importance of practicing sports because of its direct impact on promoting community health.
