Katara - the Cultural Village Foundation on Saturday launched three publications related to Arabian horses, as part of the activities of the ongoing second Katara International Arabian Horse Festival (KIAHF 2022).
The publications include the first issue of 'Al Jaziriya' magazine, which is specialised in Arabian horses. It will be a monthly publication that is intended to be a pioneer in the field of Arabian horse breeding and cover equestrian competitions and horse shows.
The second launch was of the book 'The Chosen Horses in Katara Square' by Ali bin Abdullah al-Misnad, a book whose topics relate to those interested in equine heritage.
The third launch was of a book in English, ‘The Arabian Horse: Riding on Beauty and Power’.

Prof Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti, chairman of the Organising Committee of KIAHF and general manager of Katara, praised the publications of Katara Publishing House, which exceed 150 per year and deal with various aspects of culture, such as literature, art and poetry, focusing on the Qatari heritage and the creations of Qatari writers.
Prof al-Sulaiti stressed that the publications of Katara Publishing House for Arabian horses are represented in two books: 'The Chosen Horses in Katara Square' and ‘The Arabian Horse: Riding on Beauty and Power’ in English. These, in addition to 'Al Jaziriya' magazine, represent a new and enriching addition to the Arab library on the subject of Arab horses.

Khaled Abdel Rahim al-Sayed, member of the Organising Committee of KIAHF and editor-in-chief of 'Al Jaziriya' magazine, said Katara Publishing House has come out with the three publications "due to the Arabian horses' place in our religious and cultural heritage."
Speaking at the launch, he said: “I am reminded of the saying of our Noble Messenger Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him: 'The horses are knotted in their good intentions until the Day of Resurrection'. God bless him.”
'The Chosen Horses in Katara Square' contains 116 pages and 36 chapters that focus on the interest in horses in the Qur’an and the Prophet’s Sunnah.
‘The Arabian Horse: Riding on Beauty and Power’ devotes 110 pages to highlighting the energy and passion that horses infuse in Arab culture, and the vitality that they spread in Arab societies, because Arabian horses are considered the finest in the world in terms of beauty.
The book illuminates the historical development of Arabian horse and its role in wars and culture, in addition to giving readers an overview and insight into the beauty of horses, their traits and features.
'Al Jaziriya' magazine was issued with a sophisticated design and varied and interesting topics.
Its authors Khaled Abdel Rahim al-Sayed and Amira Ahmed al-Mohannadi , along with a team of editors, have worked on the first issue. It includes many topics such as the treasures found in the Qatar Digital Library in the field of equestrian and horses, the illumination of Al Shaqab stud and its aesthetic message in preserving purebred Arabian horse breeds, in addition to an extensive dialogue with al-Misnad, one of the most famous horse breeders in Qatar.
The first issue of 'Al Jaziriyah' magazine also deals with the Qatari experience in horse production.
