Qatar's ambassador to Ivory Coast Jaber bin Jarallah al-Marri laid the foundation stone of a project for building a health centre and mosque in the Abobo-Biabo neighbourhood, one of the municipalities of Abidjan, the economic capital of Ivory Coast, with the support of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in Qatar.
The foundation stone laying ceremony was attended by Sheikh Ousmane Diakite, President of the Supreme Council of Imams, Mosques and Islamic Affairs, Supreme Commander of Muslims in Ivory Coast, and a number of officials in the country. Sheikh Diakite expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani for his continuous efforts to serve Islam and Muslims all over the world.
For his part, ambassador al-Marri praised the excellent relations existing between Qatar and Ivory Coast, with the support and care of the leadership of the two countries, stressing the keenness to upgrade these relations to better levels in the future, especially in the economic and cultural fields.
