As part of India@75, Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (celebrating 75 years of Indian Independence) as well as to celebrate India's 73rd Republic Day, the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) organised the ICC Blood Donation camp on January 21, with support from the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) Blood Donor Centre team.
The camp was held from 8am to 2pm in Ashoka Hall.
The entire camp was successfully managed with a seamless process, from the point of registration to health check clearance, blood drawing and issuance of the appreciation certificate with a medal, ICC said in a statement.
All blood donors received a special certificate and a medal from the Indian ambassador and other dignitaries present at the venue, which was appreciated by all.
Indian ambassador Dr Deepak Mittal was the chief guest of the day, while first secretary and co-ordinating officer for ICC Xavier Dhanraj, Indian Sports Centre president Dr Mohan Thomas, Indian Community Benevolent Forum president Ziad Usman, Indian Business and Professionals Council president Jaffer Sadic, Doha Bank CEO Dr R Seetharaman, several community leaders and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
Dr Mittal thanked the ICC team, HMC staff, management and the Indian community for taking part in the blood donation camp.
The camp was conceptualised and executed by the ICC Management Committee under the leadership of P N Babu Rajan, vice-president Subramanya Hebbagelu and general secretary Krishna Kumar.
