Elegancia Group recently announced its diamond sponsorship of the Qatar Camel Festival 2022 under the slogan 'Abundant Givers', where camel owners, locally and from across the GCC, will participate in a range of grooming competitions for valuable cash prizes.
The sponsorship agreement was signed at Elegancia Group’s headquarters in Lusail by Hamad Jaber Al-Athba, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Qatar Camel Festival and Moutaz Al Khayyat, Chairman of Elegancia Group.
Hamad Jaber Al-Athba, praised Elegancia Group’s sponsorship of the festival’s competitions and its support to the national sport heritage for Qataris and across the Arabian Peninsula, which contributes to reinforcing the ongoing efforts made to preserve this traditional sport and its transfer to successive generations. The sponsorship also supports the festival’s ability to attract a broad segment of audience locally and from across the Gulf.
Al-Athba encouraged all social institutions to take part in the initiative and support the key objectives of the “Abundant Givers” event which aims at developing domestic tourism and revitalizing its key components, in an effort to promote the local economic activity and accelerate its roadmap. It also plays a role in developing the country’s wealth of livestock by encouraging owners to continue camel breeding, in line with the Qatar 2030 vision and its outlined development goals.
Commenting on the partnership, Moutaz Al Khayyat, said: “It brings us great pride as a national company to play an integral role in one of Qatar’s biggest sporting events of the year. This year’s edition of the Qatar Camel Festival is marked by the inauguration of its new identity and tagline “Abundant Givers”, along with all-new Al-Asayel, Majaheem and Al-Mughateer competition categories. The inclusion of these breeds reflects the organizing committee’s intention to promote and preserve Qatari culture, preserve heritage camel bloodlines, and act as a forum for camel lovers and owners alike.
The festival also contributes to the development of cultural tourism and stimulation of economic activity, attracting more visitors to experience everything Qatar has to offer.
