The Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the General Authority of Customs launched Tuesday the joint training pouch on dealing with diplomats and their personal belongings and diplomatic parcels. The training pouch agreement was signed by HE Director of the Diplomatic Institute Ambassador Dr Abdulaziz bin Mohamed al-Horr, and Assistant Chairman for Services and Support Affairs at the General Authority of Customs Mohamed bin Abdullah al-Maadeed.
HE Dr al-Horr commended the initiative of the Training Center at the General Authority of Customs to develop this training pouch, given its importance to the customs officer and the diplomat alike, noting that a lot of things happen at land, air and sea ports, therefore it is important to have awareness among workers at the ports and diplomats about how to deal with diplomatic customs affairs.
He described the training curriculum as important and expresses the common desire of the customs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented by the Diplomatic Institute, to provide better services at the Qatari ports, adding that the training pouch will offer many programmes to customs officials and diplomats. For his part, al-Maadeed said that the training pouch comes within the framework of expanding the partnerships between the General Authority of Customs, represented by the Training Center, and the various state institutions to achieve awareness of the role of customs and the procedures and requirements that are required of passers-by and users of various categories.
He expressed thanks and appreciation to the officials at the Diplomatic Institute for preparing to this agreement, which comes in implementation of the joint memorandum of understanding in the areas of training and exchange of experiences between the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Training Center at the General Authority of Customs.
