The ambassador of Peru to Qatar, Jose A Benzaquen, has granted the “Gran Cruz” decoration to Ali Hamad al-Sulaiti, a former ambassador of Qatar to Peru, the Peruvian embassy announced in a statement yesterday.
The honour is in recognition of al-Sulaiti's role in contributing to enhancing bilateral relations between Qatar and Peru, tightening friendship and co-operation between the two countries, it was explained.
"Thanks to his support and his professional performance, al-Sulaiti has consolidated the presence of his country in Peru,” the statement said. “We should highlight that he has played a fundamental role in cultivating a valuable relationship of dialogue and co-operation between Peru and Qatar, as well as contributing to the diversification of the bilateral agenda."
