The pavilion of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) at the ongoing Doha International Book Fair (DIBF) is evoking good response.
The mini-museum captivates visitors, taking them on a journey between the past and the present, a statement from the ministry said.
Rosa Publishing House chief executive Aisha al-Kuwari praised the ministry’s presence at the fair and said that knowledge and education are two sides of the same coin.
“Education in Qatar has gone through many stages, and new generations should learn more,” she said, noting Qatar has been able to achieve development through efforts to advance the level of education.
Al-Kuwari recommended that parents accompany their children to learn the history of education in Qatar and identify historical figures who contributed to the country’s renaissance and growth of education.
She pointed out that the Department of Learning Resources at the ministry plays a major role in reviewing and developing school curricula, through their continuous communication with Qatari publishing houses to review new publications while providing schools with new resources for all levels.
Hisham Badr El-Din, a specialist in learning resources for curriculum management in education, said that the concept of the ministry's pavilion is based on “the stages of education development in Qatar”.
“There is a section to display old curricula and photos, and another featuring information about the current advanced education system,” he added.
