MES Indian School conducted an intra-school online Spelling Bee Contest recently. The chief guest, principal Hameeda Kadar complimented the participants for their high degree of enthusiasm in providing the accurate spelling for the words asked. There were three rounds - visual, option and audio.
The first and the second positions were secured by Qasim (VI) and Rehaan Mohamed (VI), respectively. The final round for the third position ended with a tie with three students heading for a tie-breaker - the rapid-fire round in which all three contestants scored the same points. Reyhan Salim (V), Mohamed Muaaz (VI), Janice (VI) shared the third position.
The programme was co-ordinated by Fiona D’Cruz, and Teena Baisel under the guidance of boys' section headmaster Jas M A, girls' section headmistress Souda Jaleel, and Department of English co-ordinators D A S Rex and Rameesh Fatima.
Students were trained by the teachers of the Department of English, namely Mary Sini, Neethu P and Rizwa Fatima. Byju Varghese, Department of English was the spell master. School officials, teachers and students attended the event.
