His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani on Thursday attended the graduation ceremony of the fourth batch of the Ministry of Interior's Police College at its headquarters in Al Sailiya where the Amir witnessed a colourful parade amid joyous mood. The function was also attended by ministers, senior MoI officials and representatives from various sisterly Arab and other countries.
A total of 91 candidates including students from Palestine graduated and the function was held amid Covid-19 precautionary and preventive measures. Also, Amir presented prizes to graduates who excelled in various fields during the study and training at the college. The function also witnessed a parade by the members of Officers of Tomorrow programme being implemented by the Police College. The graduates perform military shows of infantry, formations, and movements with weapons.
The parade by the students heralded the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 as the cadets formed into ‘We Welcome the World 2022’.
While addressing the function, Director General of the Police College Brigadier Abdul Rahman Majid al-Sulaiti said the officers were given training in various fields and they can serve the country and the community well. He asked the graduates to keep their pledge to their country and the people and treat the citizens and residents equally while respecting them and their rights.
