Fresh to strong northwesterly winds will continue to blow Wednesday and Thursday, and the winds will intensify on Friday to become strong over most areas, the Qatar Met department has said.
The gusts will exceed 35 knots and blowing dust is also expected along with "very cold weather" that will continue for several days, the department tweeted Tuesday. The forecast indicated a drop in temperature in Doha Wednesday, with a low of 16C expected as against Tuesday's 19C.
Meanwhile, Doha and other parts of the country experienced some rain and windy conditions at times Tuesday. The Met department had said on Monday that a cold spell is expected in the country from the middle of this week, and it may be the coldest one so far this winter.
