Qatar Charity (QC) is participating in the 31st session of the Doha International Book Fair until January 22 with a special pavilion, qualitative interactive activities and workshops for adults and children.
Fatima al-Mohannadi, director of the Local Programmes and Community Development Department at QC, said: Qatar Charity's participation in the exhibition falls within its responsibility to spread the culture of volunteer work, instil the values of humanitarian work, and its efforts to contribute to community development by Qatar National Vision 2030."
An invitation was extended to families and the public to visit the Qatar Charity pavilion (Hall 1 - Booth No. 47) and interact with the activities that are presented through it, or through the general exhibition activities, which include skill and art workshops.
Through the QC pavilion, visitors will be able to view several Qatar Charity books in Arabic and English (up to 12 versions), some of which are directed at children and young adults.
The Qatar Charity pavilion includes several sections: the digital marketing corner, which includes the most important of Qatar
Charity’s electronic applications, and digital initiatives, through which the public’s participation in the QC blog was launched, and a children’s corner that includes a set of electronic workshops using tablets (iPad), in addition to presentations on values and educational videos.
In addition, the live book corner enables the public to participate in writing a book about patriotism through prose writing and drawings, as well as the live broadcasting section that hosts personalities in different fields through direct dialogues broadcast on the Instagram platform.
As part of the public events organised by the Doha International Book Fair in its 31st session, QC is organising many training and skill workshops for young and old in the “pens, papers, light” halls in the “creators’ garden”, where the workshops support instilling values and promoting behavioural concepts. Positivity, developing imagination and passion for drawing and handicrafts among children and young people, allowing them to enjoy storytelling and interaction with them and practise how to write a story and elicit its idea, among others, and have discussions about the relationship of reading and writing with artificial intelligence and other topics, are in focus.
In co-operation with the Qatari Forum for Authors, the story collection of the winning students of the fourth edition of the 'Future Writers' programme of Qatar Charity will be inaugurated, and two new publications for QC will be signed: 'Pioneering Women’s Experiences in Humanitarian and Volunteer Work' and 'The Wonder Journey' for children.
It is the second edition of the "Read, Learn, Help" series, and the book is expected to be released at the end of the exhibition.
