Qatar Charity announced Monday that it will continue to provide winter aid globally as part of its Warmth and Peace campaign and distribute winter supplies to orphans and needy families in a number of countries, including Kosovo, Palestine, Lebanon and Pakistan.
In Pakistan, the charity distributed winter needs in the provinces of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The aid has benefited about 10,000 people from the poorest families of orphans, widows, people with special needs, and those affected by the earthquake that struck Harnai district in the Balochistan province recently.
In an emergency response to earthquake-affected communities in the Harnai district, Qatar Charity, with funding from the Start Network organisation, distributed winter bags, tents, plastic sheeting and food baskets, benefiting about 6,000 affected people.
In Kosovo, the charity's office in Pristina distributed blankets, winter clothes and food parcels, benefiting 5,000 people from orphans with special needs and poor families in four regions in coordination with the concerned authorities in Kosovo.
In various areas in the West Bank of Palestine, the charity office co-operated with the Ministry of Social Development and the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs to distribute quantities of water heaters and gas heaters for the benefit of 260 families of orphans and poor families in all the governorates of Hebron, Ramallah, Jenin, Jericho, Nablus, Yatta and Bethlehem to enjoy warmth in the face of the harsh cold.
In Lebanon, Qatar Charity implemented a project to provide educational equipment for Al-Iman School for refugees in the town of Yarine with the aim of providing a better educational environment for the school's estimated 153 students of Lebanese and Syrian nationalities and encouraging them to study.
