In a thrilling race over 1,400m on turf, jockey Lukas Delozier guided Mohamed Abdulhadi al-Hajri’s Stylish Performer to a stunning win at Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club’s Al Rayyan racecourse yesterday.
The Hamad al-Jehani-trained Stylish Performer (IRE) (Dandy Man), pushed hard by Delozier, broke from the outside towards the final hundred metres and kept up the charge to land the Al Busayyir Cup by one and a half lengths in QREC’s 26th Race Meeting. QREC Racing Manager Abdulla Rashid al-Kubaisi crowned the winners of the Al Busayyir Cup.
Earlier in the day, a blanket finish saw Umm Qarn’s Bachra (FR) (Munjiz) come out on top in the 1,750m Purebred Arabian Handicap (0-95), completing a hat-trick in her fifth outing. Trainer Alban de Mieulle recorded his second win on the card as the five-year-old won by a neck under Meteb al-Saaq.
Engineer Hassan Ali Alabdulmalik’s Vedute (IRE) (Holy Roman Emperor) regained winning thread in the 1200m Thoroughbred Handicap (0-95). Eduardo Pedroza partnered the Debbie Mountain-trained four-year-old to pick up impressively and win by half a length at the line.

Noora Racing Limited’s Al Ghariyah (GB) (Dutch Art) landed the spoils in the 1500m Thoroughbred Novice Plate for Fillies & Mares. Trainer Alban de Mieulle & jockey Soufiane Saadi teamed up to guide the four-year-old filly to win by a length at the line.
