Chaliyar Doha, a forum of more than 5,000 expatriates from the southern Indian state of Kerala, has a new committee and its office-bearers for 2022 and 2023 term.
The office bearers are Zameel Abdul Wahid Chaliyam (president), C T Sidhique Kodiyathur (general secretary), Jabir P N M Beypore (treasurer), Ratheesh Kakkove, Mohamed Layis Kuniyil, Raghunath Feroke, Dr Shaefiq Thappy Mampad, Abdul Azeez Cheruvannoor, Jauhar Babu Nilambur (vice presidents), Sabikhussalam Edavanna, Ahmed Niyas Urangattiri, Jaisal Vazhakkad, Abhi Chungathara, Fairoose P Pothukallu and Thouseef M T Kavannur (secretaries).
Chaliyar Doha founder president Mashood V C Thiruthiyad (chief adviser), Sidique Vazhakkad, Hyder Chungathara (advisory board members), Shoukatali T A J (chief patron), Siddiq Purayil, Keshavdas Nilambur, Manafa Edavanna, Basheer Kuniyil , Ajmal Areacode and E A Naser (patrons), are the others.
Kareem Elamaram (Vazhakkad) and Mashood presided over the election procedures. Outgoing president Sidhique Vazhakkad presided over the council meeting, general secretary Zameel Abdul Wahid Chaliyam welcomed the gathering, C T Sidhique presented the activity report and treasurer Kesavadas presented the financial report. Ajmal Areekode, Manaf Edavanna, E A Nasser and Basheer Thuvarikkal offered felicitations.
Chaliyar Doha committee has decided to hold an environmental meeting on January 11 and the Chaliyar Sports Fest on February 8, to coincide with Qatar National Sport Day.
