The first sunrise of an eventful year caught in the same frame as the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Official Countdown Clock, at Doha’s picturesque Corniche Saturday. With under a year to go until Qatar hosts the FIFA World Cup, all eight tournament venues have been completed and stand ready to host matches, the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy said recently. Seven of the venues have been inaugurated and already hosted high-profile matches. Six stadiums were used during the FIFA Arab Cup, which was held in November and December, and provided the perfect opportunity to test preparations for 2022, SC said.
