Ever since Covid-19 was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation in March 2020, we can see that the Qatari authorities have been able to control it in the best possible way. We can only congratulate them. Of course, the biggest reason for success is the very successful vaccination campaign, together with the strict control of the implementation of the protective measures. Generally, we are without any doubt witnessing the successful model of the state governance in Qatar for which we can only give all the credits to the Qatari authorities and its people.
There can be no success in the global fight against Covid-19 without two most important measures and steps. Of course, it goes without saying that we all need to continue to abide by the measures that are advised by the Ministry of Public Health. The pandemic is not over, unfortunately, and the virus keeps changing its shape and strength.
Though more than 86% of Qatar's population has received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, it is not enough. We must continue to fight it together, and the best way to do it is to take the booster dose of the vaccine, that is generously offered to everybody, by the State of Qatar. We as the embassy would like to stress the importance of the adherence to the protective measures, as well as of getting of the booster dose. We would like to encourage the Serbian and other communities in Qatar to get the booster dose, as soon as possible. This is the only way out. My family and I, my colleagues in the embassy, have all received it already.
Only together we can be stronger and we can defeat this terrible disease, that has already taken too many lives around the world!
