The Ministry of Municipality's General Cleanness Department intensified its efforts during the National Day celebrations, December 18-19, where all the main streets were swept and the garbage containers washed.
In addition, all garbage containers positioned at the celebrations' areas were emptied and cleaned, as the workers continued to work around the clock during the holidays.
Accordingly, the efforts resulted in the removal of 24 tonnes of various waste materials with the participation of 470 labourers, 29 supervisors and 53 drivers, using 32 different pieces of equipment, and 21 vehicles to collect the garbage.
