HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani met Monday in Chevening with British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss on the sidelines of the joint GCC-UK meeting.
The meeting dealt with reviewing the historic ties between the two sides, in addition to bilateral co-operation in different fields. They also exchanged views on the latest political and economic developments in the region, in addition to issues of joint interest.

Sheikh Mohamed also participated in the joint ministerial meeting between GCC countries and Britain, which was also held in Chevening. During the meeting, they reviewed the strategic relations between the GCC countries and Britain, and ways to support and develop them, especially in the fields of trade, economy and investment. A number of regional and international issues of common interest were also reviewed besides the latest international developments. The historical and strategic partnership between the Gulf countries and Britain is witnessing major development in various fields, and the two sides are working to continue co-ordination to confront security and peace challenges, enhance stability in the region, and support international efforts to combat terrorism.
