Ambassador of Cote D'Ivoire to the State Cisse Abdoul Karim praised bilateral relations between his country and Qatar, saying it yielded the signing of a number of agreements in important fields of joint interest. Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA) to mark Qatar National Day, the ambassador said that the two sides signed 10 co-operation agreements in different fields. He said that new meetings will be planned in order to boost the entry into force of the agreements signed and ratified by both parties, once there is a gradual lifting of the restrictive measures related to the pandemic.
He highlighted that Qatar Airways began its flights to Abidjan in mid-June this year, stressing that the step will help enhance bilateral co-operation between the two countries by facilitating the travel of businesspeople and tourists, something that would increase bilateral trade.
He also stressed that the two countries will continue to work closely together to strengthen and develop co-operation between businessmen and investors, in the framework of experiences exchanges and joint development projects implementation.
On his evaluation of Qatar's handling of the pandemic, he noted that Qatar's economy remained resilient in the face of the pandemic's economic impact, thanks to the preventive measures taken in 2020 by the Government of Qatar to prevent the spread of the virus.
He added that Qatar's early vaccination policy enabled the country to prevent very quickly the outbreaks of the disease, facilitating the gradual resumption of the economic activities and the movement of people and goods. On preparations for the World Cup next year, he said that his country supports Qatar's efforts in hosting the event, and praised the country's ability to complete all eight stadiums one year before the event. The ambassador congratulated His Highness the Amir and its people on the occasion of Qatar National Day, and wished them further progress and development.
