Kyrgyz ambassador in Doha Chyngyz Eshimbekov has highlighted the strength of ties with Qatar, and the two countries' commitment to enhance it in different fields.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA) to mark Qatar's National Day, he said that the Kyrgyz Republic and Qatar have made quite a breakthrough raising the bilateral co-operation level, establishing embassies in both countries, signing fundamental treaties to enhance co-operation in trade and investments, making good efforts to bring about entrepreneurs from both sides and exploring business opportunities.
He noted that the Covid-19 pandemic halted bilateral exchange and trading opportunities to some extent, but maintained his expectation of a positive trajectory since there are signs that the Kyrgyz economy is reviving from last year's downturn and that Qatar's economy is demonstrating speedy growth and successful recovery from the impact of pandemic.
The ambassador highlighted that Kyrgyzstan is making consolidated efforts to further enlarge and liberalise the economic base by initiating new projects in the field of renewable energy, mining, food security, IT and tourism infrastructure that should lift up overall growth.
He called on Qatari businessmen to explore opportunities in the Kyrgyz Republic, highlighting the range of benefits for investing in Kyrgyzstan, which include 100% ownership of projects, public-private partnerships, as well as acquiring stakes in government-owned and joint-stock companies.
On the World Cup 2022 taking place in Qatar, he said he was confident that it will be a very successful event, promoting more interaction and communication between people.
