Moroccan ambassador in Doha Mohamed Setri has said that the relations between his country and Qatar derive their strength and privacy from the solid relationship and the common strong will of the two wise leaderships in the two countries, to advance these relations towards broader horizons in the service of the two brotherly people.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of the National Day, he stressed that Qatari-Moroccan relations are based on sincere brotherhood, mutual respect, actual solidarity, common interest, and continuous consultation and co-ordination, whether it is related to the bilateral aspect or regional and international issues.
He added that HM King Mohamed VI praised Qatar's development and modernisation that His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani is leading.
The ambassador congratulated the Amir, the government, and the people of Qatar on the occasion of the National Day, praising the achievements made by the State under the wise leadership of the Amir, who continues with skill and aptitude his valuable efforts and constructive initiatives to achieve more gains in the political, economic, social and other fields, which made Qatar enjoy a balanced presence and distinguished international radiance.
He also said that the measures taken by Qatar to address the economic, social and health implications of coronavirus (Covid-19), noting that Qatar's rational policy has enabled it to win against it, with most reports unanimously agreeing on Qatar's success in overcoming the effects of the pandemic thanks to the adoption of effective measures.
He noted the steps taken by the State towards self-sufficiency in food security, and legislative amendments to facilitate commercial transactions, enhance competition, protect consumers, encourage industrial investment, and to increase foreign direct investment, thus maintaining its high credit rating with global credit institutions and a stable outlook for its economy.
The ambassador expressed his admiration for the advanced infrastructure and good preparation for hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, in terms of building stadiums according to unprecedented specifications, referring in this context to the statement of FIFA President Gianni Infantino, in which he recently said: "I've never seen a country in the world which has been so ready so much in advance," pointing out that this is the biggest evidence that Qatar won this bet, a year away from the start of the tournament, which is a matter of pride for all Arabs.
