The Ministry of Municipality, represented by the Public Parks Department, in co-operation with the Cuban Embassy and the Cuban Hospital, carried out an event at the Airport Park, as part of the initiative to plant one million trees.
A total of 32 seedlings suitable for the local environment were planted on the occasion, signifying the 32 years of diplomatic ties between Qatar and Cuba, a statement from the ministry said. Cuban ambassador Oscar Leon Gonzalez, Cuban Hospital executive director Mohamed al-Marri, Public Parks Department assistant director Mohamed Ibrahim al-Sada, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Public Works Authority, and a number of officials and engineers of the Public Parks Department and the Parks Department in Doha Municipality were present.
