The Ministry of Municipality's Agricultural Research Department organised a guidance day to familiarise farm owners with organic fertilisers. A number of agricultural engineers, Qatari farm owners, farmers and workers attended the event.
Participants at the event learnt the importance of organic fertilisers in terms of providing best growth for trees and plants and its contribution to improving soil properties.
Speakers explained the stages that organic fertilisers, distributed by the ministry goes through, right from the stage of compost fermentation, transport to the factory, mixing, darkening, and then packaging.
After this necessary tests are conducted on the fertilisers to ensure its compliance with necessary requirements.
The speakers also focused on the basic services that would contribute to raising production levels, namely the definition of irrigation water scheduling, the fertilisation process, and the dilution process. (QNA)
