The seventh General Assembly of the Global Public Diplomacy Network (GPDNet) started at Katara — The Cultural Village Monday.
Katara is representing Qatar in GPDNet.
The activities of the three-day event started in the presence of Prof Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti, Katara general manager and GPDNet president, a statement said.

Prof Dr al-Sulaiti welcomed the delegates wishing the network a qualitative leap in joint cooperation and elevate it to a position it deserves internationally through the establishment of sustainable structures aimed at searching for feasible mechanisms.
Darwish Ahmed al-Shaibani, secretary-general of GPDNet, moderated the sessions and expressed his hope that the conference would set the appropriate frameworks for a long-term strategy that would expand areas of cooperation in a way that institutionalises the network and enhances its position, strength and effectiveness internationally through new participations and attracting more members.
The activities of the first day included the presentation from six new countries which highlighted their cultural projects with an explanation of the administrative and organisational structure, mission and vision.
The countries are Albania, Romania, Tajikistan, Bulgaria, Rwanda, Ghana.
Today, a group of academics will present a series of lectures on international public diplomacy.
