Aspire Zone to host King of the Court Finals from January 5-8

The King of the Court Finals will be held at Aspire Zone from January 5-8, 2022. The ultimate fight for the crowns will be contested by the combined top-10 teams from Hamburg and Utrecht, who will battle it out with five invitational teams in both genders. The total amount of prize money for the King of the Court events will be $150,000.
Beach Volleyball in Qatar has been growing over the past years. With the four-star World Tour events that have proven to be top class. Home team Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan have shown the world their immense potential, winning a bronze medal at Tokyo Olympics and reaching the five World Tour four-star finals. They also picked up the title in the one-star event in Doha last February.
Known for hosting high-end multi-sport events, Aspire Zone has an impact that drives international progress in sports. Dutch organiser Sportworx has signed a long-term deal with Aspire to host King of the Court in Doha.
One added objective is to develop the sport even more in the region, the organisers said.
Mohamed Mubarak al-Kuwari, Chief Marketing Officer at Aspire Zone Foundation, said: “We are proud to host King of Court Crown Series finals 2021 for the first time in the Middle East and especially in Aspire Zone Foundation, in collaboration with Qatar Volleyball Association”.
He added: “We are always looking for new concepts to attract new sports to the region that leave an effective impact on the community participation and complement the support of a healthy lifestyle”.

The strategy we, the QVA and the State of Qatar sports leaders, have been implementing the last years have led up to the perfect infrastructure, atmosphere and support we need to ensure these events come to the sports capital of the region. Also, the outstanding sports performance by our national teams and in particular by our local heroes Cherif and Ahmed has earned Qatar a spot between the best Beach Volleyball countries at the moment. We wish all participants a successful, amazing and spectacular tournament.”

Beach volleyball is being played all around Qatar and this is reflected in the way they’re hosting the World Tour each year. The format of King of the Court suits Qatar and its people very well and I look forward to developing the concept even further.”
