The “Box of Happiness” initiative, held in co-operation with Qatar Charity (QC), saw significant interaction with youngsters who donated toys to bring joy and happiness to children of low-income families in Qatar and to disadvantaged children abroad.
The activity took place at the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) in conjunction with World Children's Day.

In addition to giving the toys for the initiative, the children, along with their parents and family members, took part in wrapping them in beautiful gift packages for delivery to the target children, aiming to draw a smile on their faces.
Qatar Charity has embraced the “Box of Happiness” initiative and provided it with technical support and volunteers, who assisted the children in collecting and wrapping the toys.
The QC and the initiative’s team will soon sort the toys for distribution to beneficiaries in Qatar.
Qatar Charity’s Programmes and Community Development department director Fatima Jumah al-Mohannadi said the QC has supported the “Box of Happiness” initiative as part of its keenness to instil the values of sharing and giving in the children and to bring joy and happiness to kids whose parents do not afford such toys for them.

She emphasised that Qatar Charity always supports youth initiatives for community services, allowing youth to develop their capabilities, and engaging volunteers in community activities.
Launched by Alya al-Maadheed and Tamader al-Buainain, both volunteers, the “Box of Happiness” initiative collects used and new toys and wraps them in beautiful gift boxes to be sent to children in Qatar and abroad.
“The idea of the initiative stemmed from our sense of responsibility towards children, especially those experiencing tough health and psychological situations, orphans and underprivileged children,” said al-Maadheed. “We want to draw a smile on the faces of the children and bring happiness to their families.”
She said the initiative also aims to bring joy and happiness to other sections of the community, in addition to children.
Al-Maadheed indicated that the initiative is currently under the umbrella of the QC, thanking it for the support, and the NMoQ, which is the organising partner of the initiative.
The initiative has earlier distributed a large number of “boxes of happiness” to children in Kenya, Bangladesh, and Jordan.
