Federation of Indian Nurses in Qatar (FINQ) in collaboration with Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) celebrated World Diabetes Day with the theme for 2021-2023 'Access to Diabetes Care'.
Guest of honour Indian embassy first secretary Dr Sona Soman inaugurated the event. ICC president P N Baburajan and other officials were present.
A wellness camp was conducted for a large number of workers. The interactive workshop covered topics such as ‘Access to Diabetic Education,’ ‘Access to Blood Glucose Monitoring,’ ‘Access to Healthy Foods' and ‘A Safe Place to Exercise’. Dr Silas Benjamin, Subitha C, Sheena Sajan and Biju Nirmal conducted the educational sessions. Those who were diagnosed at the camp with high blood sugar levels were guided on what can be done further to treat diabetes early and prevent complications.
