Qatar and Poland on Monday explored ways to enhance the economic relations between the two countries in various fields and study the potential investment opportunities.
In this regard, the Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA) had a meeting with Pawel Jablonski, Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, in the presence of Janusz Janke, ambassador of Poland to Qatar.
The Qatari side was headed by HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani, chairman of the QBA, in the presence of QBA board members Sherida al-Kaabi and Khalid al-Mannai, besides Sarah Abdallah, deputy GM of the association.
Sheikh Faisal highlighted the QBA’s interest and keenness to build a network of partners around the world to facilitate the entry of the Qatari businessmen to different markets.
Jablonski said his visit aims at developing the business collaboration with the Qatari side, especially in light of the second Polish-Qatari Forum, which focuses on the information technology sector.
During the QBA-Polish meeting, discussions were centred on various economic sectors of common interest such as agriculture, manufacturing, transportation, technology and information technology.
Outlining the competitiveness and experiences that Qatari companies enjoy, as well as the investment incentives offered by the country to foreign investors, al-Kaabi called upon Polish investors to learn about the Qatari market and the huge investment opportunities offered by the private sector especially in view of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
"The core of the Polish government's policy now is digitisation, which requires investments, as the country has already started investing in infrastructure, transport, energy and other fields," according to Jablonski.
