The impact of 5G, AI and Cloud technologies in reshaping the energy industry will be spotlighted at the Huawei Energy Conference, to be held online on November 24.
The summit will bring together industry experts from Qatar to share insights and discuss key aspects that will help accelerate the digital transformation of the energy sector.
The conference participants will share cutting-edge technologies and review innovations empowering Smart Energy solutions. Participants include those from the gas, LNG, hydrogen, and solar energy industries, who will examine how digital transformation delivers improved solutions for the Energy industry by improving assets lifecycle, reducing downtime, and improving production. The conference will also feature panel discussions to discuss and demonstrate how innovations in Cloud, AI, and 5G can help the oil and gas industry enhance safety and operational excellence.
Panel discussions will include two sessions: accelerating digital transformation of the energy industry with 5G; cloud and AI reshape the energy industry; and green energy in the energy industry.
Liam Zhao, CEO, Huawei Gulf North, said: "The Huawei Energy Conference 2021 comes at a pivotal time for Qatar's energy industry. Coming just weeks after the world reaffirmed commitments to reduce carbon emissions at COP26, the need for the industry to embrace improvements in production and sustainability has never been more urgent.
“Rather than shying away from this responsibility, it is inspiring to see that the regional energy leaders are taking proactive steps to shift to a greener future. At Huawei, we have an extensive range of digital solutions to support this transition while also ensuring employee safety and operational excellence."
With the world's major economies already announcing net-zero carbon emissions goals, the oil and gas sector must embrace a transition to a greener future to survive. ICT technologies are now recognised as pivotal in accelerating this transition while boosting efficiency and ensuring resilience.
To this end, Huawei collaborates with dedicated industry partners to provide sector-specific ICT solutions in all scenarios to enable the transformation the transition requires, alongside improving safety and productivity. Huawei's solutions — which embrace the oil and gas Internet of Things (IoT), digital pipelines, High-Performance Computing (HPC) and operations management, and intelligent distribution — have already been applied in 45 countries and regions around the world, serving 17 of the global top 20 oil and gas enterprises.
