FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021 will begin on November 30 and feature 16 national teams from across the Arab world. Matches will be played at six FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 stadiums. The tournament is seen as a golden opportunity to fine-tune preparations for Qatar 2022 – which will kick off on November 21 next year.
The design of the trophy is a celebration of football, which occupies wide fame throughout the Arab world, from the ocean to the Gulf, according to a Qatar News Agency report.

The design of the trophy also embodies the Arab culture and some of its symbols and connotations, where the ball at the top of the trophy symbolises the championship and the importance of football in the Arab world, and the map of the Arab world is prominently engraved on the ball to distinguish it from the rest of the world.
The tournament logo includes Arabic letters of the word 'Mawtani' carved in an artistic way on the bottom of the trophy, in reference to the arts of Arabic calligraphy and Arab solidarity and unity.
It combines the lower and upper parts of trophy, the 'keffiyeh' or the 'ghutra', which the men of the Arab region are famous for wearing, and which appears as if it embraces the shape of the trophy with complete undulation and flow.
The ripples of this 'keffiyeh' mimic the trade routes that the Arabs used in the past in search of livelihood.
The trophy bears a solid golden base that embodies the solidarity of Arabs and their solidarity to stand as one body in the face of challenges.
“This unique trophy speaks to the special nature of this tournament,” said FIFA’s Marketing director, Jean-François Pathy. “All FIFA trophies are exceptional and embody the values of the event they represent – and the FIFA Arab Cup trophy in particular has a deep connection to the event and the region where it will be awarded. It is a stunning piece that will further inspire and excite the Qatari public in the run-up to kick-off.”
Fatma al-Nuaimi, Communications executive director at the SC, said: “Excitement is building across Qatar and the region for the FIFA Arab Cup. We are delighted the trophy has arrived and look forward to showcasing this special prize at schools and tourist attractions across the country. It is a stunning piece of art that captures the culture and traditions of our region and we are sure schoolchildren and members of the public will be excited to interact with it.”
