The Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) accepted Qatar's application for permanent membership, represented by the Shura Council, and decided to raise the request for approval by the assembly to be held during the first quarter of 2022.
This came at the conclusion of the PAM Bureau Meeting, which was held in the Italian capital, Rome, with the Shura Council's participation.
HE Shura Council member Abdullah bin Nasser bin Turki al-Subaie, who represented the Council at the meeting, delivered Qatar's speech before the members of the Parliament, expressing thanks and gratitude of the Shura Council for accepting its request to be a permanent member of the PAM.
HE al-Subaie stressed the Council's desire to increase co-operation with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean in the future.
