Lusail University has signed an agreement with the British Council in Doha, to become one of the registration centres for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) in Qatar.
The IELTS is an international standardised test to measure English Language proficiency for non-native English language speakers, who wish to study or work in places using English Language to communicate. IELTS is one of the major English language tests in the world and is accredited by more than 10,000 organisations in 140 countries around the world, including government, private and academic institutions.
The agreement provides test applicants with more opportunities and choices, as they will be able to choose among the different available test centres in Doha using the registration process.
Fatima al-Mesleh, Lusail University vice president for Student Affairs, indicated that this agreement is a starting point to provide British Council IELTS testing opportunities and prepare students to join the bachelors and postgraduate programmes, whether at Lusail University or at other universities.

It is worth noting that Lusail University offers some programs in English language, such as the bachelor’s programme in teaching English at the College of Education and Arts, and the bachelor’s program in supply chain management at the College of Commerce and Business in partnership with the American University of Shippensburg.
Lusail University is the first national private university in Qatar. It offers in co-operation of its strategic partners many high-quality academic programmes, such as the bachelor’s in business administration in partnership with the University of Jordan at the College of Commerce and Business and a bachelor’s in marketing and distribution techniques in partnership with Hassan II University in Morocco. The College of Law offers two bachelor's programmes in both public and private law in partnership with Hassan II University. The College of Education and Arts offers a bachelor’s programme in French studies. In addition to the bachelor’s programme in law offered by the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. The teaching languages at the university are Arabic, English and French.
