Vice-President of the Dominican Republic Raquel Pena and her accompanying delegation visited the departments and sections of the Emergency and Accident Department at Hamad General Hospital. During the visit, Pena, who was accompanied by HE Minister of Public Health Dr Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari, was briefed on the great services provided by the department and the important role it plays, in terms of medical care for accident casualties and urgent medical cases. The visiting dignitary also listened, from the department's officials, to a detailed explanation for all the services it provides and the departments and sections it includes, including the diagnostic department, urgent cases, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, accident intensive care, emergency landing area, CT scan, resuscitation and the unit receiving cases transferred by ambulance to the department. The vice-president of the Dominican Republic expressed her admiration for the department and the level of services it provides to the public, and also praised the efficiency of its employees. (QNA)
